Dumb eBay shippers

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

A sticker with the eBay number on the cover of the booklet (sticker not shown in auction pic). Partially torn off when we got it. BTW, Rich has pretty good luck using a hair dryer to remove stupid-assed moves like this!

Last but not least, this seller was asked to protect the original box. I guess all the stickers were enough protection! After I left descriptive neutral FB, we were told something like: "C'mon... collectible vacuum cleaner parts boxes???"

Oh boy!!!

There have been so many others! Rich reminded me of the woman who shipped a typewriter crate. We told her to use plenty of packing material, like newspaper. We didn't specify what to do with the newspaper, and suggested it would take about a Sunday paper from a large city to have enough. She threw some of the paper in the crate and draped some over the side like a towel on a rod!!! Sheesh!!!

Removing Stickers

Stickers can usually be removed from anything -- including fairly delicate paper stock -- using lighter fluid. Forget about Goo-Gone, which is smelly and oily and hard to clean up.

I know it sounds completely wrong, but plain, old Zippo-type lighter fluid (I get it cheap from Walgreens) will remove the stickers without damaging the paper. Just lightly soak the sticker, wait a bit, then carefully peel off the sticker. The adhesive residue can be removed with a paper towel wetted with lighter fluid.

I hope I don't need to add that you shouldn't smoke, and you should keep away from flames while doing this.

It's agony waiting for the item to dry, but you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Oh honey don't break a nail or anything!

People, like water and electricity, tend to take the path of least resistance.

"Work" may be substituted for "resistance".
"Thought" may be substituted for "resistance".

They don't care

I think alot of sellers as soon as the money reaches there hands they don't really care. I have had 4 K&M Mixers arrive with the control knob totally shattered beyond repair plus the mixing bowls usually arrive broken as well, But i learn never to use the USPS for shipping anything fragile as I have personally seen them kick boxes at my post office, That's Why I like UPS as I have had a Cyclo Floor polisher arrive broken from UPS but it wasn't there fault the seller just threw it in a box no packing materials at all, Then one time I had won a compact c8 and the seller simply just threw it in the box but the time it took to get to me the power nozzle was totally damaged and the name plate on it was as well and so I called the seller he said told me he had sent out 26 vacuum cleaners before mine with no packing material at all and none of them were damaged, I told him that he needs to start to use some very special care in packing his items and he's just lucky that Tania helped me out with parts to fix it or I would have definately left him a negative feedback.

Another instant situation which just happened to me I won A Vorwerk Tiger 260 from Germany ebay and I paid the auction with paypal and of course I have a confirmed address with paypal well i just learned about this but on ebay they have on your account all the addresses that You have items shipped to. Well I had a vacuum shipped to Reggie one time and What happened the seller looked at my ebay addresses and shipped my Vorwerk to Reggie which I think was pure stupid on his account
it cost $41.87 to ship from reggie to me and I paid the guy a total of $935.00 US dollars for the Vorwerk, Well now I have filed a claim with paypal to make the seller refund the $41.97 shipping cost still waiting for the outcome

Hi Skip,

I don't get it. There should be only one address that shows up to the seller. If you go to your preferences, you should have a radio button next to each one. Only the one that is marked will show up to the seller. Sellers don't have any way to see any others. Is it possible you left the "gift" address checked when you paid for the Vorwerk?

I'm not really sure what when wrong here as I have a german friend Andy From Frankfurt and He told me that most all German sellers go to the Ebay addresses and not paypal because most of them do just Bank transfers, but I asked this seller to accept paypal and he did and paypal told me when He claimed his money that They in fact sent hium an email with my confirmed address, but After Talking To Andy I did go to my ebay page and it showed 4 addresses on my ebay name. the first address was named confirmed ebay address with All of my Information and then the second one with the confirmed paypal address with all of my shipping infor, the third was blank but Had all of Reggie's infor on it and the furth address with my name with my sister's address on it but I have since deleted Reggie's address off of my ebay addresses but do Thank God it was shipped to someone I knew as I at least finally got it

Yes, the information will be shown to you, but only the address under "primary shipping address" should show up to the seller. They get an email at the end of the auction with your address on it. I don't think a seller can access anything but the address you choose. I'm just wondering if Reggie's was still there as primary because of the previous purchase?

It's also interesting to note that if you pay PayPal and the seller ships to any address other than the PayPal Confirmed address, he loses some of his PayPal protection!

Sure sounds weird, though! Best of luck!!!

It is weird as I have bought on ebay after the purchase for Reggie and everything after his was sent straight to me, So I'm confused big time and I just hope Paypal rules in my favor and gets him to refund the shipping from Reggie To Me.
