Easy spin dryer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I have a new Easy and use it a lot. They clean well and the pump is the weakest part of this. You can take it off, open it up and see what is going on inside. I bet it is full of gunk from years of washing. The impeller inside is always turning, the problem lies with the divertor mechanism that allows you to change from the washer side to the spinner side. Good luck. Happy Easying. Gary

Great time efficient washer

One of my grandmothers had one like this and safer and faster to get the washing done that any wringer washer! Liked the spinner rinse! I was allowed to help when I stayed at her house during the summers. She had an AirWay model 66 vacuuum cleaner too. The pump was the cause of the Easy's demise too! Had trouble with a seal with water getting in the transmission too. Getting parts in the 1970s was not easy having no local connection to get parts. We even tried contacting a machinist about fabricating the damaged part. The washing action of the Spiralator was better than any other ramp agitator I have ever seen. the machine we had lacked the tower in the spin basket. It had the red timer dial and four levers arranged in a circle around the timer. It was an efficient way of washing clothes and one was done!

Chris's Easy Spindrier

You have such a well preserved machine! Are the legs/supports powder coated? My grandmother's machine was like the one pictured, having two round lids and two faucets and an cast aluminum Spirolator. The wash tub sure holds a lot of clothes!

My grandma too.  Around 1953.  I worked the 'gearshifts' and the drain nozzle.

Had a Panasonic twintub 20 years later, engineering superior to Hoover.  Wish they still made them.

Had to settle for a Panda 3yrs ago.  From you know where.  Worst wash action of the 3 by far.  Tangles pretty bad, shreds unless I soak N stir.  Spinner does great job.   No problems but some buyers have.  Bought a garden pump in case it quits.  While full of water weighs an unmanageable ~200lb, no longer 'portable'.

Fun to run a twinny.  Control every aspect.  Somewhat a chore but these days I'm not doing anything else.  And this apartment doesn't allow anything near full size machinery, supposed to use the communal coin ops.  Yuck.  Gotta wonder if some of these old bags wash their adult diapers in them.
