First off let Me say how much I love this site! I have found a new home lol.

My partner John and I have been blessed to find a easy from e bay works ok, But
has a "click " sound when washing.Does any person know of what weight gear oil it takes and how much? I do have a extra transmission for parts. I will post pics soon. All our 18 years together we have waited for a easy we have fell in love with it. (he cheats on me every wash day I never get a chance to use the easy lol) Any help would be great. We love you guys and love the easy! and LOVE THIS SITE!

HI, I have an Easy spindryer too. Make sure the spinner is tightly bolted under the machine. Tilt the machine on its back,(not on the control side) and there will be a large, flat metal plate (mine is gray in color) with four bolts, lock washers and nuts. Tighten these so that the spinner assembly is held in place.
Make sure, when using the spinner that the spinner basket is pushed down as far as it will go.
If your machine has cables for all of the actions that make the washer work and while it is lying on its back, lubricate all of the cable ends that you can get to so that they move freely. I use W D 40 or whatever you want to use. Wipe up any drips.
Happy washing with the Easy sprialator. Gary

Not a spot of rust! The porcelain always holds up but the panel is seldom so fortunate. Might add that, at least the early versions, the legs were said to be fragile. IOW, don't tilt it over leveraged by the legs. Round up help, pick it up then set it down on its back.

Mike, A word of advice. Be careful of the plastic control knobs. If the wires that control all of the actions binds in anyway, it is possible for them to break off. What i do when using the machine is to grasp them up, where they are fastened to the metal flange that comes out of the washer and move them that way, not by the bottom. Just a word of advice.
Let me know how this is going, do you live near Brattleboro? Happy washing. Gary

I much preferred the levers to the knobs. Plus the lever models had those chrome racing stripes. And the pump handle that looked like something out of a WW2 submarine.

Good Advice Gary

Thanks Gary, It is true it seems all easy had that problem with the knobs breaking off.I did oil the cables and seems to move a lot better now. Still have the "click" while it is washing. I think I may change the tranny oil when I find the right weight oil to use and know how much to put in it.I have two spiralators,A black bakelite one with the filter and the White Aluminium one.
I am not sure what one works the best, But I like how the White Aluminium one looks in it.I did get a person on e bay to sell me a spin basket as the one in mine did not have the metal screen water diverter on it so it did not rinse well,I hope to get that soon. He had a old easy he could not sell so I bought the basket, pump and the motor. all for 100.00 shipping included. Not a bad price I thought.I do need to find the wrench to remove the center post on the wash side as well as the wrench for the spin side should I ever need to take the tranny out.I may have to have them both made. I will post some pics as soon as I get my new digi cam. I do hope the one now on e bay finds a good home. I live in a small town Norton, Vermont on the border of Canada. About 300 people (lol) Big town. I do love it here.Have Fun with the Easy

Mike

HI Mike, I did laundry today in my Easy and noticed that it had a sort of "knock" to it too but then went away after I washed in it for awhile? I thought that it may be just the sound of the machine working?
Do you have a parts machine? Thanks Mike, Gary

Gary

Hi Gary,
I think the knock may be norm sound but I am going to change the oil in the Transmission, It could be after the parts become hot and the oil the knock stops.
Like in all transmissions and gear boxes the oil function is to lubricate moving parts; it also cleans, inhibits corrosion, Over time and long use oil will lose viscosity. So like any oil in any gear box if it is dark and has a burnt smell it is IMO time to change it.I am going to use a 90 weight oil I will let you know if it helps .I did have a dented easy I found at the junk yard some years back and took all the parts I could off, I also have got in touch with e bay sellers who have had easy for sale on ebay and for what ever reason they were not able to sell them, I would offer the price for them to take the parts off I needed, Thus saving me a lot of shipping cost.as I did two weeks ago one was for sale on e bay it did not sell so I called the seller he was very happy to take the parts off it for me and ship them, a spin basket a motor a pump. all for 100.00. I got them today in the mail. My spin basket the water diverter the screen in the middle of the rinse cone was missing so the rinse cone would not work, Now it does.So you can get parts at times off e bay with out having to pay to ship the whole machine at times. I did the same thing a month ago My easy had the black bakelite spiralator, I like the original white Aluminium one. I saw a easy relisted two times it never sold so I paid her for the spiralator, She like most will be happy to sell parts if the price is right, But it can save you the cost of shipping a whole machine.I will post pics of my easy and parts on Wed.If you still can send a pic of the washer and nut you need I am sure I have one I can send you.

Hi Brad, yep the easy sold I hope to a good home. in the last like three months I have seen a lot of them on e bay, Two of them I got parts from. This last one was the best shape of all of them.I am always on e bay on the look out My e bay sn is dogsell01.

Well, EASY DOES IT

Mike
