Hi All!
Does anyone have the address of the Easy factory in Syracuse, NY? I will be home visiting soon and would like to see if the building is still standing. If so, I will take pictures to share. Funny, I never knew anyone in Syracuse that had an Easy washer!

I knew one family in Rome that had an Easy, but by then it was part of WCI -- an indexing tub with the angelwing agitator. I remember seeing the twin tub spin dryers at the summer camps in Sylvan Beach.

Westie:
Thanks. I know there are a bunch of old factory buildings still in that area. I will check it out.

Peter:
Sylvan Beach! That brings back so many great memories. I need to have an Eddie's fix soon. Fried haddock to die for.

Chris:
Good to hear from a back home boy. I used to play the organ in Holy Family Church in Auburn. Owasco Lake was the best.

I think all those bldgs or whats left of them are being turned in to Lofts Condos and Apartments. I will drive by there this weekend and see what I can find...

Bobby,
I grew up on Owasco lake just down from the Springside Inn.. Out in Scipio Center...

Easy Spinner

I remember in 1956 my aunt lived in an apartment and had a twin tub Easy. She moved that year and got a Kenmore frogeye. She looked at my Easy not long ago and laughed, said then it didnt seem so long to do laundry, but if if she had to use it today it would take forever. She liked the way it washed everthing so clean. My uncle was a printer. My aunt used to work for Easy in the late 50's, I will grill her for info. She said that they used to ship overseas, and that was her department. I think they were eventually bought out by Borg Warner, then Braun. There is a Braun factory in Syracuse making huge commercial drums for the military and ships, but word up us they are closing.(Cheaper in North Korea, if they dont bomb the shit out of the far east.) I wonder if they inheritied the archives of Easy? Wouldn't that be a prize. They are but 2 miles away....should I just go there and insist, wearing my best hoodie?

Phil:
Find out what you can from your aunt. Laundryboy, do you think condos and apts will fly in that area? I remember it as kind of a wasteland with old abandoned warehouses and such.
