Look What Came Into Work Today

Well another dull and wet day and as i walked on site today through the dark over cast light i could just make out, oh no! not another old Hoover dryer!

Look What Came Into Work Today

here's another picture, not in bad visual condition needs a fan belt and a good T-cutting on the body.........its mad since i bought the D6042 I have gained another two Hoover dyers from the 1970s, the D6008 just needed a bit of service and a new fan belt

and if any of you are eagle eyed enough you will notice a Hoover washing machine laying on its side to the left, well that turned out to be a Logic 1100, so i spent a few hours stripping out all the useful bits :-)

Look What Came Into Work Today

Here is one more of todays find.
I didnt have room for the D6042, nor the D6008 nor this one, so I am going to ahve to start Stacking them :-(, whihc i dont like doing coz i like to be able to get them easily to use.............ah well

Now the only other problem i have with this dryer is cannot get the lint filter out, it turns but will not pull off.........i nearly snapped it at one point......so any ideas welcome on that one :-)

Thanks
Gary

OMG OMG

Very interested in that A3348 - struggling for room though.
Were it to be preserved then, amongst our ranks, we would have:

RobM's A3346
This A3348 (a rare bird by all accounts as people generally bought either the 3346 or the 3350).
Mine and Robs, Mikes plus another example of the A3350 in Cardiff.

Will have to think long and hard!

Geez...those 3022's were long lasting!

Hi Gary.

I take it that you have decided to give the old bird a home then?

Mine and Rob's 3022 has a similar thing re the lint filter - it just wants to turn round and round and round.
Probably the reason why, when we got it, the filter looked like below!

Rob did manage to get it off the back of the drum, but i dont know how. I will try and find out or he could just post it here.
whether you have to align it or something, i dont know. my mums earlier slate grey and red 3022 dryer filter, twisted twice anti clockwise and came off real easily.

which model was the Logic?

congrats on another great turn up for the books.

Room OMG Electron No Room OMG PANICK

Well Paul i totally understand but these are such nice machines.........god knows why the A3350 i had didnt move me......as you know i passed it onto a "secret" person :-)

Hmm take a sip of washing liquid maybe that will clear you mind :-)

Gary

All it took was a bit of masterful jiggleing and a few swear words then it popped off.

just twist and bend it until it comes off is all I can say.

These are real bitches to get off when stuck on!

knickers i forgot

That logic i think was an A3457, 1100, same size drum as electron 1100 (4.5KG) if its not totally buried when i go in saturday ill have a look

Well how can i refuse an old dryer like that this is the first non glass door dryer i have had me hands on, i noticed whilst fiddling with it inside that there is no fan on the motor at all, just the exhaust fan on the back of the drum

The filter was like yours in all my tugging i managed to get all the lint out of it

As regards getting the bugger off ill have a session next week, once i have got it in the garage (still in the back of my car for all to see)

But of course if Rob can shed some light then that would be great, the other dryers i have use the same filter so i would have thought a turn anti clokwise would do it...........ah well least of my worries.

It would be good to the Hoover 800 go to someone who will love it :-)

a "secret" person :-)

I am very smitten by that A3348 (Matthew 'electron800' - if you were to be interested in your namesake machine, let us know and I will immdediately forget any ideas of going for it - I might not finish up going for it at all and wouldnt want to put anyone else off!).

Gary - on that A3350 you mention - hopefully, in the coming weeks, watch this space!!!!!!! Not a word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul
p.s this A3348 coming up makes it all the more of a shame that none of us got the A3344 blue round door that was up a couple of months ago. I did put a high bid on it, but just lost out.
were I to have got it then there was the potential for all standard non-exclusive members of this series of electrons to have been preserved bar the A3332.
The series comprised of:

A3332 automatic round door - missing
A3344 automatic de luxe round door - outbid
A3346 electron 800 - RobM
A3348 electron 800 de luxe - available on ebay
A3350 electron 1100 de luxe - 3 machines in good hands
A3308 Computer Control - Seamus

Masterful

Well Rob if you wanna cum and be "Masterful" in my garage your welcome :-)

The D6144 dryer and D6042 filters come off very easily where as the D6008 filter needs a bit of a tug

Maybe with age and use the filters distort........hmm maybe a good eye and file will help

Thanks
Gary

Perplexed by that Logic Gary.

If you stripped the facia off, could you post a wee piccy of it, just so I can get my bearings.....oohhh bearings. little chortle to myself.

if the machine is about and the model number visible, be great to know for sure what it is/was.

Cheers
paul
p.s anyone fancy an early grey jetsystem? the seller also has a black facia Dishwasher too!

As much as I'd kill for that Electron

1.I have no room
2.I have no means of getting to Manchester to pick it up

So by all means bid on it, infact I'd love it if you got it so that it's preserved!

After all if you did run out of room or decided to get rid of it I would hopefully have the means to take it off your hands at sometime in the future :)

Matt

Also...

It will have the same programming as my Ecologic, with the 4 rinses and one interm, mine is basically an Electron in drag.

I have a friend who has a black facia Zanussi Dishwasher sitting unused in their garage, no idea if it works or not but I doubt they want it anymore. I suppose I may be able to talk them into giving it up if someone wanted it :)

Matt

Zanussi Jetystem ZFL1023

I am bidding on this machine, I hope I get it. Always wanted a non-Nexus early Jetsystem.

Tom.

The 3022.....

I was about a month old when that came off the production line in Merthyr!

Its actually the closest Hoover appliance to my birthday ive seen. The closest one I own is my 1224A Convertible which is April 73!

*Ducks and waits for a slap*

Hey Paul

I hate to say this but the A3348 instructions you have came with a machine - all it needed was a sump hose !.

It was before I got the bug :(
