Ebay will NEVER ask for user and password. If you get an intimidating letter that asks for you user and pw, don't do it.

I know a few friends who got burned like that.

Ebays been having software problems

Apparently paypal wasn't working right over the weekend. There are disgruntled ebay participants that try to corrupt the EBAY community. Watch out. Make sure you have good virus, spam, and spy-ware software and update and check your system often. I had passwords stolen by someone who cheated me and then got mad at me because I wouldn't let him get away with it.
EBAY is awesome though.
