I don't know about the washing machine but that stove is the same one my parents had when they moved into their first house in the 1950's - English Electric I beleive?

Hmmm, well my first thought was that this might be a Parnall with the shiny roller guides but I am not so sure now, its not a good picture but the porportions seem a bit off for a Parnall. Actually its that wringer that its putting me off, it does not look similar to any of the Parnall or EE pictures. My next thought was Ada but it does not look much like Lance's Ada either. Sounds like someone needs to go check this one out .....

Well I'm not sure but I think it's a Ritemp, which was possibly a division of English Electric.
I remember my aunt Jane having one and I'm pretty sure it looked like that.
I fancy having a bid at it but if any other member wants it please say so and I will leave it alone.

Yes its an English Electric Ritemp, although at first I thought it was the ADA model made for the CWS Co-op brand!!
Looks like they where both bought together, go for it Lance but make sure you get the cooker as well!!

£30 is a high starting price for such stuff, which a lot of people would have binned. I was given a whole van-full of assorted appliance spares by a retired repairer. I had taken a bottle of single malt to give him but on receipt of that he found me some more gear, Hotpoint and Servis diagnostic equipment!

I agree with you but as parts are becoming more scarce and we will run out ourselves it sometimes is a given we will have to pay over the odds. Now if you ever want to part with your diagnostic for servis I may be interested?

To me your comment is pointless and obtuse, please remember you are on a site where people restore old machines and are looking for various parts. as Austin has pointed out spares for these machines are becoming rarer (or for any other old machine) so that will dictate price for any spares for any product, it is a pity you cannot make more positive comments about subjects on here.
The joy that people experience when they have found "that part" is superb and even if they have had to pay through the nose for it it is still a joy, in this world where spares and repairing items is becoming a thing of the past, to people like us on this group this sort of activity is very sad
So i say to anyone who has success rebuilding an old appliance good luck and well done, how ever much it cost you

you are dead right and sometimes its not the cost of the part its the feeling of satisfaction of being able to resurrect a machine that others have decided not to bother repairing. I have put a bid on the box of parts and hope to share them with others that may need the odd item wish me luck
