Ecologic problems (again!)

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Is cheaper than here....

Is AUD$110 for the first 10 min and then $18.00 for every 10 minutes after.....

That works out at approx GBP105.00 for the first hour!

well it would seem the brushes have gone altogether now

Had to stop it mid cycle cos the drum wasn't tumbling properly. Took everything out and set it to drain but the drum didn't rotate at all then. Guess 17 years out of one set of brushes can't be bad :).

With just a call out charge that pricey no wonder people are starting to replace their machines rather than repair them. It cost us £67 for the pump plus call out but hopefully the brushes should be somewhat cheaper.

A suggestion

Hey Mate

Replacing the carbons is actually pretty easy on earlier Hoovers- they have a tag that pushes onto a terminal then are just held in the motor with a sprung lever. A set of Logic carbons should set ya back well under a tenner :)

I might give it a go then

I suppose whats the worst that can happen. It's not like I could fry the poor thing, is it =|?

well crisis over :)

I tried to do it myself but was getting nowhere. The repairman's just been and it's now starting a boilwash with the towels it was washing on saturday (they've gone a bit musty smelling now, lol)

Cost £58 for parts and labour and he's given us a year's guarantee. Well worth it for such a fantastic washer!

it was the carbon brushes

It was a local repairman I had come out to it, same one who fixed the pump. There's a lovely story behind the shop. I remeber going in and getting bits and pieces for our vac's from the original owner.
