Welcome to the club!

Hi neil.

You will be pleased to know that a certain someone (not me!) owns a superb condition Electra 11500!!!! I promise you it looks stunning.

If i remember correctly it needs a new set of bearings fitting but, apart from that, is in fine form.

I will let the owner of the machine post the pics (if he doesnt see the thread, I will do the honours on his behalf, at a later date).

Meanwhile, here is the Creda Crusader 1000 - if anyone knows the model number, I'd love to know it.

Cheers
Paul

that's the one my best friends mum had!!!!! wow My Nan always said her electra was the was the best washer she ever had,so did my mates mum!! both had them 15 or so years!! i always liked the drums an all these years on i can still remember the sound of the machine when it drained and spun!!

Wow, my auntie had one of these. It was great, how the timer ticked in between tumbling was really memorable for me. And that water level was pretty mad on the rinses too.

Her example also lasted around 15 years, she replaced it with a newer Electra 'Eco' model, built by Servis i think. As far as i know the old Electra was only just starting to make weird noises, but she decided to get rid before it died totally. Shame really.

Creda Electra

Dont have a vid yet, it needs its bearing changed, its in the queue!!! I picked this up from house that an elderley lady had lived in since 1940, it was in an outhouse, really old round plug & wiring!!!its in great nick except for the rumbling....everything about this UK design is great for me, from the powder dispenser being so smooth and easy to clean, the simple use of programmes and the ease of use etc....Creda at its best!!!

Electra/Creda

Hello Mike and all

Hmm maybe i am being thick here :-)

But the drum backplate looks like Hoover but the suspension looks like Hotpoint...........hmm were these machines hybrids or totally Creda?

We had an Electra when I was younger. Not sure on the model. It was a 1993 machine with 2 dials on the right hand side - a delay timer and a program dial - and the soap dispenser on the left, with buttons in the middle and had a push in/pull out dial. I always remember it had a very weak door catch. It was a hopeless machine anyway and we had it repaired about 5 or 6 times in the 3 years we had it and then my Mum got sick of it and bought a Zanussi AquaCycle.

omg

my mum had one of these washers, from 1988-1991

i remember it being a creda with a chrome door, i remember doing a wash load in it when i was aged two (1991), my dad started the machine and the sparks streaming from the plug socket, as the fuse blew =[

i'm sure it was a creda debonair, i think or the creda badged version of that electra =]

i miss that machine, can't remember much of it though.

Only thing i remember was my dad using 80's Daz Automatic Liquid and filling the ball up with a light blue white creamy liquid into the Dazlette

my neighbour had a Creda Concord 1100 when i was little. This machine was awesome from memory. Had a black slanted facia with two large dials, one temp, one programme. Three or four lightswitch type buttons and a very small on/off button at the far end next to the programmer. Also the indicator light was in between the temp dial and the option switches. Does anyone else remember/have pictures of the Creda Concord models? This one lasted a long time and was replaced by a Creda SupaSpeed 1200 which i believe is still going.

The Concord range looked like this dryer below, only the washers had two dials as already explained. Also this facia is a lighter colour.
