This a graph of Saturday the day of the mini wash-in. Peaked at about 18,500 watts instantaneous demand @ about 7:30 PM. Probably a 140°F load, two dryers running, oven & A/C.

In the early hours of the day, are the lower peaks, like the 3 between midnight and 2 AM the air conditioning cycling on?

Rural electric cooperative. They use remote-read metering, which includes some graphing/tracking functions. All customers do not have access to graphs, but it can be done on a limited basis upon request or to clarify usage questions/complaints. (Or if RJ happens to be engineering supervisor or whatever is the official title ...)

I was wondering if it had something to do with remote metering. We have been trying that on a limited basis, but it's expensive and tricky in our wireless-ridden city.

The nice thing is that it would essentially end misreads, which are a headache for me, but it would make the high consumption complaints even more annoying to deal with. I have crackpot customers who complain about EVERY bill, and I'm sure they'd see a million conspiracies should we ever go to remote metering. (right now, they only see a hundred thousand conspiracies ;-)

Tom, yes. A/C is about 5.5 KW. I have a baseline of about .5 KW.

Well, I think I was outside about that time talking on the phohe until dinner was ready. So I can't really saw what was being used at that time.
