Electric Dryers (Speed Queen )

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

You'd have to make sure the range line's amperage was at the same level as what the dryer requires. Most electric dryers require 30 amp circuits as do some electric ranges, but some electric ranges need 50 amp lines. Depending on the wiring and electric codes, it may be a matter of replacing the existing circuit breaker with one of lesser capacity, depending on what's in there now.

If something went wrong with the dryer, a short circuit, overload of some ilk, etc., a 40 amp breaker would allow too much current to flow before it tripped, not as much as a 50 amp, but still more than should be allowed. The breaker should be changed to a 30 amp.
