Electro Hygiene Vacuums

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Wow!!! Great finds for sure! The upright looks hardly used.

These are rebranded royal vacuums. The upright is I suspect early 70s. The canister.... perhaps 60s. Dont know much on their canisters.]

Youll notice that the upright is one good vacuum! :)

Thanks!

We posted at the same moment. I am surprised the upright is that new - it looks so 40's/50's to me, especially the design on the bag. I am very surprised at how lightweight it is. I have very bad memories of using my mom's Kirby when I was a kid. That thing weighed a ton!

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep them...it was an impulse buy at an auction. But I kinda like the upright :)

Yep. On second thought it could be a 60s upright. Royal stayed true to their old design far longer than kirby I think, and they still do.

They are fantastically light weight and are probably the most maneuverable vacuum out there besides the dyson ball!

Here is a 1954 magazine featuring the hygiene model 900 it appears. Cant make it out clearly.

The canister and upright are most definitely newer than 1954. So late 50s perhaps.

Thanks for the info both of you! And those ads are great.

One of the other items I bought today is a 1965 Westinghouse Jet Set TV. I found a vintage commercial for it on YouTube!

(Unfortunately, this TV does not photograph well. It's pretty cool looking in person!)

'65 westy "jet set"

i also have a 1965 westinghouse "jet set"-it is not in working
order, but is in decent cosmetic shape-it is partly transistor.
i also have a few vacs-mostly '70s /'80s

jet set

have not yet tried to repair the jet set,it's a bit of a back
burner project(but your reminding me of it might just get it
moved ahead a bit!)I bought a non-working'57 hotpoint portable
TV (in pretty salmon, white and chrome)from a lady at a
collectables shop and she just gave me the jet set.
I got the '57 hotpoint working(replaced some bad tubes and
fixed a few bad solder joints)It's working at about"60%"and
one of these days i will relace a degraded tube i did not
have at the time and replace any degraded capacitors and
carbon resistors-then it should be closer to 100%performance
when i dig into the jet set i will sure tell what i find
wrong...

I know about these because.....

we got into a bidding war! I primarily wanted the tank for parts but when the price started climbing up to $45 I had to stop before my pocketbook took a hit and then I thought afterwords "I have the upright already, I don't need another one!"

Did you get the sofa at Fathertime too? I know you won the coffee and end tables after some heavy bidding and that TV looks great too.

Yeah, that was a fast bid match! I had a little regret afterward...I didn't NEED a vacuum at all. But that upright was just so great looking. Then I tried it out when I got home and as mentioned upthread, it is so lightweight and easy to move! So it's a keeper.

I got the vinyl sofa & matching chairs at Father Time. I've been looking for a vinyl set for my knotty pine rathskeller, and they are perfect.
