My G is popping open constantly, and some research has lead me to the dial shut off valve being the issue. I cleaned it out, but no change. To continue using it, I disconnected the vacuum inlet hose, but I would like it to operate as designed. Any fix suggestions? Does it need to be replaced?

It's a very simple mechanism. If it were me, I take the front cover apart and clean out all the little pressure tubes and the little suction valve that trips the latch. One cotter pin removes the cover from the unit and then two screws opens the cover. Just make sure you keep track of where everything goes as you take it apart.

Mine has 3 screws to remove the cover- one on each side, then 1 small one on the top. I did clean out all of the tubes, took apart the valves, cleaned them, and still no change. The 2 rubber diaphrames seem ok, and the spring wasn't broken. I'm stumped!
