WHAT A SCORE!

Anyone who can reject a Maytag to spite the giver of the gift is a cold fish.

COosidering they were about a week's pay that was SOME gift!

Toggles.....

You have no idea, that giver is the most generous lady I have ever met, we are related thru the marriage, and we called her "Auntie"...she traveled the world and always sent little gifts and post cards, even to me, always a xmas card from around the world, and would tell fantastic stories of the people she met, but you can't imagine how mean the receiver was to her, and she didn't hide it either, most of the family on that side was also, but when she was gone, they were all fighting for what they wanted of her estate, that's just the way it is sometimes, so this machine is kinda special to me, like a gift from heaven, from her, to be really thankful and treasured, and added to my collection....thanks for letting me babble, there are some great people on this world and beyond, and you guys are part of it!

Great finds! Glad you found these two machines. (or maybe they found you) <:

Bob...

I'm not FREE!...but I am reasonable......lol

just a little smarter than the average BEAR!....anyone up for a picnic?

from what I gather, the whirlpool never been serviced, except for the fill and drain hoses, which was taken from the maytag, can't tell about the belt, looks OK, and the bolt holding the motor doesn't show signs of adjustment, the agitator took some strength to get the cap off and tugged alot to get it out, a little dried lint and soap scum, but that was it, either she took very good care of it, or it was built to last, the only rattle is the control panel, the clips that hold it down are weak, put your hand on top and its silent, there's no play or knocking in the bearings either....this is a little too good to be true, but it works, what can I say?.....

and the Maytag, after sitting all those years, and yet brand new in looks and function, and they both sat in a basement, not musty but you know theres always some form of dampness that would cause some rusting...go figure...

and you know these machines are ALL STEEL METAL, they are heavy monsters to move, even with a dolley...

thanks for the info on the years of these machines guys!

when you're not looking is when you find a gem, that's just the way it is on anything....

Thats how I got mine, when I wasn't looking....

It just the way it works for a lot of people.....

maybe Karma!...or a higher power...one never knows....
