I have a baby blue Eureka floor scrubber, model 24A. I bought it at a yard sale about 10 years ago for $3.00. I used it for a couple years but then when I moved to a new house it sat down cellar for about 4 years. I've recently decided to press it back into service and noted the brushes are flattened out (bristles bent over) to the point where it's pretty much useless. I thought it would be easy to find replacement brushes but I can't find them anywhere. I don't believe Regina, Hoover, and others will interchange. The brushes have a small hex shaped hole. I haven't taken one off to measure yet. Any ideas on where I can find brushes?

Do the brushes spin opposite directions?  Swap sides, till you find replacements.

I wondered about that. I also thought about soaking the brushes overnight (in conjunction with swapping them) and hopefully getting most of the old residual cleaner out of the bristles. Maybe that will help erase their "memory".
