Was watching Looney Tunes earlier and happened to notice this washer in Porky's house...it looks very familiar.

Pretty cool, although with as little clothing as Porky Pig wears, he can't have much laundry. I never noticed his "nudidity" before seeing this picture.  It seems like it would have been easier to draw a Bendix than the Easy. I wonder if they had product placement rules and policies in cartoons like in movies.

that's the one.

There was an episode where the cat was put through a cycle on a Bendix washer dryer. It finished with a 'fluff dry" cycle and the poor cat came out floating like a cloud.
When the dog was dragging the cat to the Bendix, the cat was calling out "not the Bendix."
I was a little kid when I saw that but still remember it...

Do the cat and dog have names in these episodes?

It was probably supposed to be funny back then, but...

It's amazing how insensitive people were back then.

And trying to use cartoons to impart cruelty, just no. This dog cartoon implies it's perfectly legit to inflict bodily harm, torture, and impart permanent mental trauma on someone.

Of course back then, those concepts wouldn't have been as likely to be in the public thoughts. There was also little psychological counseling for people who were damaged by such mistreatment, nor were there institutional protections in place. It was just unthinkable.

When you think of all the new creations that had few protections like GFI outlets, and proper fuse panels.... it's not wonder the death tolls were so high and why some of our relatives look, act, and talk like they've lived through hell. They did.

Disgusting.
