I am looking for an uncommon piece of Farberware, and I'm wondering if anyone here has actually laid eyes on one.

It's the No. 774 three-quart strainer, pictured below. It's meant to be used as a handy one-handed colander for draining pasta, etc. There is the traditional Farberware handle on one side, and a hook on the other, to permit it to sit on a pot or bowl.

Does anyone have more info, like a better pic, or owner experience? Or best of all, "I know where you can get one, Sandy?"

Thanks!

Very Handy Indeed!

I've always liked a colander with a side handle for draining things like pasta, because the form makes it so easy. You hold a pot of pasta in one hand, the colander in the other and pour from one to the other. When the pasta's drained, you just pour it back into the cooking pot for saucing or onto a platter for serving.

Easy-peasy. P.S.: Yes, I did buy the one on eBay. Wasn't gonna let that pass.

Came Today -

Excellent condition, well-made, nice heft and just the right size for draining most saucepans.

Wish I'd known about this piece sooner! Only Tom Stiyer's kind contribution of a Farberware brochure I'd never seen before brought it to light. None of the Farberware ephemera I already owned showed it.

All's well that ends well....

It will come in very handy for draining all of the delicious veggies available at the farmers markets this time of year.
