These look like a really well built old school electric griddle but the price of them on ebay is way up there.  Anybody know anything about these.

Seems like a fairly rugged piece of cookware I also noticed that it claims to be fully submergable. I don't think I would do that to it but it is interesting that they say it is OK. I believe most electric griddles now specifically say do not submerge them.

Fully Submergable

Not sure who started it but it became a huge trend for electrical cooking appliances that for the most part is still going strong.

Then and how housewives and others were getting sort of a "ewwwwwwwwwwww"factor from not being able to wash electircal skillets, fry pans, griddles and so forth. Merely wiping them down with a cloth wasn't up everyone's street, nor was the delicate dance to wash the thing while preventing water from getting inside.

Stand Corrected

Tray that slides out from under the main griddle could be used to either keep foods warm or as a drip pan (hence the small hole in the center front of the griddle).

Farberware positioned this product as either a griddle, broiler or buffet server/keep foods warm appliance.

The food warmer tray is quite ingenious actually. When making flap jacks for instance one could presumably stash the ready ones below whilst cooking another batch.

One has always liked the Farberware griddle because SS is a non-reactive and durable surface compared to say aluminum. Teflon is totally O-W-T in my kitchen.
