Farberware Mixer...made in England???

Who made this beast, I bought it at an estate sale for two dollars! it is missing the dough hook and the whip, where can I get them?? This is a serious appliance..500 watts!

That's a Kenwood rebadged as a Farberware...Kenwood is to the UK as Kitchenaid is to the US.

My mother has the same basic machine but with a plastic bowl and I have a later model. They are great machines...a tad noisy if your not used to 'noisy mixers', but they can do just about anything.

 

Parts are easy to get, beaters are adjustable (you should be able to slide a piece of paper between the beater and the base of the bowl).

 

Just note: They will continue to weep oil/grease for decades from the beater spindle and/ or the attachment dock above the beater spindle....

Of course you'll also have to get the blender attachment, the meat grinder attachment etc etc etc to make it complete LOL

Thats a rebadged Kenwood Chef model A901 made from 1976 to approx 1985. Fantastic machine and in my opinion one of the best to have for everyday use(The earlier models have pretty much obsolete parts and the attachments from the 901 onwards dont fit). After this version and the rest of the 900 series models Kenwood gradually cheapened the construction IMHO.

Regarding the dripping grease this is normally a sign of lack of use- its a good idea to run any Chef for at least 5 mins a week. Kenwood do produce replacement food safe grease and on this model its a pretty straightforward job to repack the gearbox.

Regarding the price id say you stole it lol- the link is to UK Ebay and will give you an idea what this model can still fetch (and show some of the multitude of attachments lol........)

Sears was up until recently selling Kenwoods rebadged as Kenmore Elite mixers but they didn't seem to offer any attachments that I saw.. They sold the stand alone blender as well

Leaking "Grease"

Yes, my Kenwood does that as well. One just wipes it away and cleans the bowl/beaters before use.

Really should use mine more often but it has been very hot and humid recently. Not the kind of weather one wants to turn on the oven.
