Chris, you could've stopped at your first pic. Best agitator ever IMO, it's been downhill ever since.

My favorite non-Maytag agitator would be from the Easy automatics. It's performs like a ramped GE on some hardcore steroids!

Several to pick from here. My absolute favorites are the Surgilator pictured in Reply # 3, and the Kenmore gold str8 vane in Reply 29.

Have a good one,
James

What to replace 1972 Lady Kenmore Agitator with??

Have a gorgeous matching 1972 piano key Lady Kenmore with stripped out vari flex. What can I replace with?? Willing to purchase any suggested part anyone has at great price. Help! Sincere thank you. [email protected]

You're all crazy!!! The best HAS to be a Kevinator with all the fins and holes in the agitator!!!! They are the MOST entertaining too!!!

Mine would be: the Easy Spiralator and the ones in my Maytag wringer machines. Both of those agitators throw some real mean water currents and lots of clean clothes. Happy washing, Gary

Replacement Kenmore Agitator.

Any plastic, not bakelite, Whirlpool or Kenmore regular capacity belt-drive agitator should fit, if I am not mistaken. Kenmore Roto Swirls and Whirlpool Surgilators are fairly easy to find. I find the Surgilator to be more aggressive, and the Roto Swirl to be a bit more gentile.

Hands down

The super-surgeralator for me. GE ramp is also one of my top favorites.

Least like for me are GE's green straight vane agitator followed by the GE mutli vane agitator that debuted in the late 90s. My understanding that has been redesigned since.

I don't think I could narrow it down to a favorite, they all had their personalities. Some were boring and others put on quite a show. I am really liking the one in the Speed Queen, very Surgeralatorisque. I like the long stroke. I don't use the fabric softener attached cup, think it would make a mess and rarely use fabric softener anyway.
Have a soft spot in my heart for the Kenmore scrubber caps, those had personality!!

Favorite agitator

My favorite old school agitator is the whirlpool surgulator! My mom has an 1982 whirlpool belt drive.
My other favorite is the kitchen Aid agitator that is 30% larger.

Favorite Agitators

By far my favorite agitator is the Frigidaire 3-Ring agitator. I never get tired of seeing it jumping up and down and the rollover is simply amazing. After that it would have to be the Whirlpool Super Surgilator. We had a WP extra large capacity that had the wings on the bottom. That sucker lasted 18 years and then just needed a tub seal. What a machine!!

Please correct my errors

1. Whirlpool Surgilator--from the mid-1960s
2. Hotpoint--mid to late 1950s--rubber tipped fins
3. ABC O' Matic--concentric action--
4. GE straight vane Activator from solid tub washer --(1957-1959)
5. Norge from the mid to late 1950s
6. Guessing it is from a Blackstone--not a shape recall seeing

The only washers brands I recall being sold around here were GE, Hotpoint, Maytag, Norge, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Wizard, and Kelvinator. Grew up in a small town w/o a daily newspaper.

Favorite agitator is the Frigidaire Jet-Cone. Also like Kenmore Roto-Swirl, GE straight vane, Frigidaire's Three Ring, Kenmore Roto Flex and Easy's Spirolator
