Picked up another excellent cast aluminum cake pan from nordic-ware. This one is a lovely shaded harvest gold color, and produces a cake that looks similar to a forest of manufactured trees. I baked this in the '49 Maytag Dutch oven which continutes to work like a dream. It's an apple cinnamon bundt cake made from a recipe I found on the internet.

Bob, that's an absolutely beautiful cake. Looks almost like a flocked Christmas tree on the outside. Very pretty. Bob

And it looks very tasty too.

Very nicely done! I'm just curious: what did you use to coat the pan. Did you do it the old-fashioned way, or use the Pam baking stuff or something like that.

pam flour spray

Well, when I saw Dolly, the lady that invented the bundt pan for NordicWare in the 40's, on Martha Stewart last year she said to use pam flour spray. I alway do and have never had one stick yet.

I just love this new Fiesta Party Cake mold and have already eaten 5/8 of the cake.

Great, thanks Bob! I have some and have used it with great success in other pans, just haven't gotten around to trying it in a Bundt pan yet.

Great looking cake!!!

Thanks for the Pam Flour tip. I once baked a bundt pound cake for Easter and it got stuck because i didn't prep the pan enough. I was so upset! Haven't had the courage to do another one. That cake pan really is cool. Like a Christmas tree lot. Marty

Five trees down and three to go

What a lumberjack.

The cake looks exquisite.

A cakeaholic, I'd love the "receits" as one of the Two Fat Ladies always called them, for your cake, Bob, and Mike's Kentucky Butter Cake, which I'll frost with Burbon Ganache.

Mike

I baked another one tonight

How many trees ya got left to go on this one--none? Yeah!

Love how the "receipt" lists orange juice, walnuts, and a goodly amount of apples--all favorites, but i might up the apples a bit.

Thank You, Bob
