Any ideas on this one?
I have a 1960s 16mm sales film about washing machines (and others).
I'd like to change it to DVD - but do it well.
Long ago I used a cheap film-chain with a camcorder and (using my Kodak Pageant) did a decent job of moving it to VHS. Flickery perhaps but usable.
Anyone know about a professional service to this regard? I've personally got a lot of gear and knowledge myself. If someone knows of some good "attachment" that I can use between my Kodak Pageant and DVD burner, let me know.
Just how did Frigidaire Follies end up so well transferred? That was well done.
Comments welcome.

Flying Spot Scanner

It ain't cheap - although I honestly don't know the hourly rates, but there's always the professional route using high-quality transfer gear, such as a telecine unit with a Flying Spot Scanner or even a Spirit Scanner. You'll yield fine results with that method, but that comes at a cost. You have to justify the frame rate difference btwn film and video to eliminate any flicker or rolling frame lines, etc. a process that's a by-product of a proper transfer.

(Actually, these days there are several digital options with an array of prices/quality that may be up your alley). Start searching on the internet and no doubt there are transfer houses in Chicago that may provide methods to suit your budget and ultimate expectations.

Good luck. Would love to see the results.

Thanks for the tip

Thanks for the tip! I'll begin the search for something local. I'd love to share the results, the film is quite fun.
If I ever get to a wash-in (which is my ultimate goal) I will bring the film along. This baby is pretty unique.
