Greetings, I'm new here, and saw Filterflo's post from 2007 (Post# 209416) about a c. 1960s Westinghouse Center Drawer Refrigerator. I have been looking for one of these and would love to learn more. Happy to hear from anyone else who might have one too.

This Was....

....A late '50s/early '60s thing. Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz did at least one commercial for them on the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, under their sponsorship contract with Westinghouse.

In the commercial I remember, one of them (I think Desi) pulls out the center drawer, to be accused by Lucy of breaking the appliance. She's then reassured that the new Westinghouse refrigerator is supposed to be like that, to her broadly over-acted relief.

We remember the I Love Lucy shows as comedic genius. The commercials with Lucy and Desi were anything but.
