Finally...The stove search is over...

Most of you know I love the green Frigidaire for the good memories...but the green aint working...so today, we drove to Carrboro NC, and for the very reasonable sum of 50.00 bought a 61..."I think"...Hotpoint, model 107rc44c..in other words..a 40 inch pushbutton range with the big square buttons, the only glaring blemish is that the outer door glass is cracked, hopefully I can find one, and thoroughly clean it up...it was used as a secondary stove for Holiday cooking from the 60s on, it weighs a ton too!!!My Great Aunt had one of these when I was a kid, I used to wonder what the red extra high heat button did!!LOL..

Good for you!  Now I've just got to find me a white Frigidaire like Bertha's!  I wish I had room for a 40 inch.

Well...

As far as cooking goes, the Frigidaire is great, but I really missed the flourescent light, I will put the old girl back in my building and cover her up...we should be able to find you one!

Well this is what I'm cooking on, we can only go uphill from here!  I darn near burned a pan of biscuits in that thing this evening because it heats so unevenly.

I like the 30" Frigidaire and the Kenmore was really interesting, but this looks like a range you would be cooking on! Awesome beauty, Hans.

Hans, that is a beautiful and great stove! And the huge oven windows that Hotpoint put in are great! You knew the right stove would come up... and so close, too! I look forward to hearing more about your experiences with it!

I'm happy for you. I wonder if the red button was to indicate that the rt. front unit was high wattage? Does a 40" range restrict access to the cabinets and drawers to the left or is it just the angle of the photo with the range on the handtruck?

Its in the

middle of the floor, when I move the Frigidaire out and put it in its place it will be fine..The right front unit is a high wattage unit...it has 3 coils.
