Someone had started a thread on the Deluxe forum about replacing their 2005 Maytag front load washer because the main bearing went bad, the machine started leaking and shorted out the board. I made the comment that the cylinders and clothes baskets in front loaders and top loaders make good drums for fire pits. Someone asked for pictures, will here they are:

This is the SS clothes basket out of a 2002 Amana TL that had a bad seal and bearing.

This picture is the left over ashes of papers that I burned. I have to say, it works pretty well! I did not bother to take the plastic off the top...well, it's not there anymore! I'd say that fire got pretty hot judging by the discoloration on the outside.

Don't show that to my Hubby!

'Cause he'll start building a fire in the GE pull-out dishwasher in the kitchen!! lol

I could use two or three tubs to burn on the tree branches and twigs that I have to pick up before I mow. I might check out the used appliance store by me on Tuesday and see if they have any I could have. If they do, I'm going to look pretty strange with them on the bus.
