This is the way I remember floors being waxed when I was a kid in the 50's and 60's. The beauty of paste wax is that you can rebuff the floors at least a couple of times before you have to reapply the wax. This way you can have nice shiney floors for a couple of mo. without reapplication. Also, we used to use a colored formulation of Johnson's Paste Wax called "Indian Sand". This was wonderful for hardwood floors that were scratched. The color in the wax "filled in" the scratches making the floors look like almost new. Easier and cheaper that refinishing, and sure worked great if you were a renter.
