A new neighbour of mine was getting rid of this and said that I could have it for free, a Hoover UltraCare 1500 from the Six range of machines first launched in 2000.
I'm not sure of the age of the machine, but I'd say it's at least 24 years old, there is supposedly nothing wrong with the machine other than the fact that it needs a damn good cleaning inside as it hasn't been used for a year.
The story of this machine is that the elderly gentleman who used to occupy the house, had passed away in the January of last year, and lived in his own, so the machine hasn't been used much and is in very good cosmetic condition.
Fast forward to a few days ago, and the new owner of the house had moved in and because the machine hasn't been used for a year, it does whiff a bit and needs cleaning, the new owner of the house didn't want to bother with that and has bought their own machine, and so this old girl was destined for the tip, I spotted it yesterday night (Friday 24th January) and I couldn't see this machine go to scrap in such good condition.
I brought the machine around to my house, I only live around the corner so a sack barrow, a lot of swearing and struggling later (it's a ridiculously heavy machine) it's at mine waiting to receive the TLC it needs.
However, I will not be keeping this machine for long as I simply don't have the space, as much as I would like to, so once the machine is cleaned as best I can, and is confirmed working, it will be put up for sale, I'd like this to go to a collector if possible as it's a really nice machine and I'd love to see it go to a good home, so if anyone's interested and has a car, send me a direct message and I'll get back to you once the machine is ready for sale.
