Yikes....I hope iron doesn't leach out of the steel basket. It may work with freshwater fish and frequent water changes. As a salt water aquarist, I'd never try this with salt water, stainless steel or not.

I know little about fish, but I guess I'm not surprised that there could be problems.
Although some who might pursue this sort of project might not care, as heartless as that sounds. I can't speak about these owners, but I could see some saying: "It's just a sales gimmick. Who cares if we have to replace fish every 3 weeks?"
