Moving TO California?

From where? Are they an American company? I live here, and all I hear from any manufacturer is the consideration of moving out, due to high taxes, insane workers comp, and equally insane environmental standards. Would be curious why they selected here.

New Zealand. They've been working for about six years on establishing a presence in the U.S. and apparently have reached the point where manufacturing "locally" is more cost-effective than shipping internationally.

They bought DCS recently, and as I understand it the plans are to make use of a DCS manufacturing facility.

I was at a close out sale at Home Expo an upscale retail experiment(failed) of Home Depot and I asked about the Fisher & Paykel washers and the salesman told me that they were INDIAN
made. Indian? Yes, like in India!

When I worked at the "Expo Design Center" we sold a lot of DCS and I assume the "Expo" srores are still a large part of DCS's business.

By the way------there is no such thing as a "Home Expo" store. There is a division of the Home Depot stores called the "Expo Design Centers". They were over-expanded, but have most certainly NOT been failures. There are 20 stores closing across the U.S. but in the "big picuture" that is nothing. 5 Will re-open as "up-scale" Home Depot stores similiar to the one in Manhattan.

DCS stands for Dynamic Cooking System I believe. Their ranges look nice, but CR never really had nice things to say about them. I myself would rather have a Viking, Wolf, Dacor, or Vulcan-Hart instead.

Actually from what I was told both of the Expo Design centers in Houston are closing. The salesperson at the one on Westheimer not only told me that Fisher-Paykel was Indian made, but also that ALL of the Expo Design Centers were closing. Maybe he was mis-informed...
So, how many Expo Design Centers will be left nationwide after these 20 close?
I always liked these places. Very large selection of most all brand names. But the prices! Whew! No wonder they are placed close to "trendy" and "upscale" neighborhoods!

Thanks for the clarification.
