FLUKE 87 True RMS MultiMeter - $75 (Snellville)

These were great meters, I remember when they came out. For years that was the meter I dreamed of owning as a replacement for my Fluke 77 (which I still have). I waited long enough that I ended up with a 289 instead.

The CL meter is a plain 87 which isn't nearly as desirable as the 87V in your comparo photo.

Its not a bad price if it works, but it looks kinda rough. I was at a hamfest last Summer that had a table with about half a dozen 87V's in new condition and the highest priced model was $125.

For most of us folks a brand new Fluke 117 (Testequipment Depot $148) is likely better and more trust worthy this this 25 year old unknown meter.

Hey Phil, thanks so much for chiming in on that. Down the road, I'd like to get a nice MM.
Thanks for sharing the info here and clarifying the photo differences and the suggested Testequipment Depot model.

It doesn't look to me as though it's missing part of the protective case. It's just sitting on top of it rather than inside it. It's missing accessories, the owners manual and the carrying case, but for fifty five dollars folks should be able to overlook that. I've never had any trouble with my Fluke 88. Great meters.
