Hmm,

I don't know. Some of the tips are accurate, some seem a tad bit risky to me.
Going to have to sit down and really work through it. Still, I have always wondered at those silly expiration dates on things like salt and vinegar....not to mention honey which keeps for thousands of years.

I just typed 10 common things in my home

Block of cheese
Left over noodles
Roast Beef Lunch meat'
Ice Tea
Munster Cheese
Milk
Lemon Juice
ramen noodels
instant oat meal
peas canned or frozen

dont agree with half of it and it was puzzled by a couple of the items (ramen noodles and ice tea)

Absolutely an open jar of salsa will last a month after opening...if you use it smartly. If you open a jar of salsa, place it out on the buffet table, dip into it with your fingers and tortilla chips, it won't last. If you put it into a serving container then re-refrigerate it, then it's good to go.

Remember, the mold is in the air...keep it closed and cold and it will last. Leave it open and out...hello penicillin!!

Having worked in restaurants, I know enough to always use a clean spoon in the jar, but some of the better salsas have no preservatives, like Newman's Own. After it's open for a week you can tell it's not the same. First it gets weak, then it gets salty, I won't eat it at that point.
