Has anyone ever stood in line at a store and was overwhelmed by, uh, feminine odor? Sometimes I feel like going to the pharmacy section and grabbing a can of Summers Eve and passing it on to the offenders and saying "Here honey, you need it, you are burning my eyes out! "

Working in a hospital I am constantly overwhelmed by horrible feminine odors, and it gets worse as they move, especially for hip x-rays when you are close to the area, there have been some so bad that the entire department reeks of crotch rot, and I wish i could say go and take a bath you smelly thing, but you cant do that

Hoax!

That "Housekeeping Monthly" page is an Internet hoax that has been around forever. I was around in '55, and not even back then did housewives accept husbands' unexcused tardies and absences. They were also not nearly that compliant; I had many female relatives who had far more starch in their backbones than their hubbies. Poor slobs just wanted clean laundry, good grub and a balanced checkbook; if the lady of the house supplied all that, they pretty much let Queen Bee do as she pleased as long as it wasn't going to break the bank.

Well, I couldn't believe this outright misogyny would have been tolerated as late as 1955 (the feminist movement didn't start in earnest until the 1960's, but attitudes toward women in the U.S. changed drastically and permanently post-WWII). And as it turns out, it looks like this "Housekeeping Monthly" article is fake. Or at least no one has ever produced a verified source text:
