I was at a used book store yesterday, looking at different stuff. When I happened to come across a book called "TV Sets, Fantasy Blueprints of Classic TV Homes" by: Mark Bennett. I went ahead and picked it up and scaned through it. What it is, is a collection of blue prints that he drew of the homes in old tv shows. For example it has Andy Taylor's home. It shows the floorplan of the house and where all the furniture is located in the house. It also has a map of Mayberry. It has other ones as well, like Ward and June Cleaver's house. Has a map of the Gilligan's island. And even has Perry Mason's Office. It also has some commentiaries about all of them as well. A rather intresting book, that i thought you all would enjoy. :)

how cool......

so Im just guess ofcorse bu is that the Brady house on the front? Funny I just got that book (growing up Brady)off ebay and it says in it under a caption that the Brady house was a really a house (at least the outside was) and is in the San Fernando Valley

What a cool score,Thanks for sharing. Im going to try to find a copy

yes

that is the brady bunch's house on the front cover. And i did read that somewhere about it being a real house. Actually a lot of the tv homes (at least the outside) were real houses. Mary Richard's first apartment in the old house, is actually a real house in the minneapolis area.

Brady House!

Yep, the house actually exists...

Jeff and I went and found it when we were in LA for the VCCC Convention back in June of 2005. Here's a picture--actually off of a roll I just got developed, after I discovered it in my *film* camera last week. Oops! :-)

From what I understand, they hung the second floor window on the exterior of the house just for outdoor Brady shots... and I think they covered up one of the windows near the front door,
too.

The current owners put up the fence, because of all of the touristy onlookers. ((Looks around innocently))

It was cool to see in person!!

Jeff knows the actual address. And I've got some more pictures on a CD somewhere. But this gives you the idea. :)

Brady house

Yes it is real and if you Google it you will learn tons of stuff about it.
The house is located on Dilling street in North Hollywood, it backs to the LA river. All of the exterior shots you see of it throughout the Brady series were shot before the first season went into production, and reused throughout the run of the show.
The Fence was put up sometime in the early 90's, to discourage tourists from peeking in the windows.
The did hang a fake window on the front of the upper level, hoping to give the illusion of a full 2nd floor.
The house actually looks quite small in person, but it is unmistakable even today as the Brady's house.

TV Sets

I found the book in a clearance bin at a book outlet store several years ago--and I love it!

If you pay particular attention to the Screen Gems shows ("Donna Reed," "Bewitched," "Hazel, "Gidget," etc., you will notice that the producers were resourceful--the indoor sets were easily reconfigured, so part of Darrin and Samantha's house may have been part of George and Dorothy Baxter's home (in fact, supposedly, the Stephens house was next door to the Baxter residence on the Columbia Pictures lot).
