Help Support :

Derek,

I tried to make you feel welcome and explain that sometimes things here don't quite go the way one wishes - we all have lives.
But attacking Robert that way is beyond belief.
It is only thanks to him - and to no one else - that this site exists at all.
We are guests in his living room. He runs this site, at his own expense and, yes, even the code the site runs on was written by him.
Robert has helped me on innumerable occasions and put up with quite a lot of hassle from the killer queens around here for letting new people such as I once was join in. Without him, this site would be just like some other collector's sites, nothing but a group of catty, bitchy underfcuked queens.
I regard him as a friend and such an attack on him is an affront to me.
His opinion does count and, quite frankly, I think you should apologize.
Even my youngest cat has better manners than you have shown.

Panthea,
No disrespect intended toward you- he attacked me! I agree with some of your thoughts but I have a right to express the way I feel. If he will apologize- I will too!

I do not know what this dude expects from others here, but I don't think he understands how this works.

It takes weeks to restore a vintage washer. Sometimes years. The 1960 that I own is only a shell.(There are NO guts in the cabinet) I have been trying to find the parts I need to restore it for years. Three other club members have, or are in the process of sending me the parts I need to TRY to repair the machine. I do not nag at these people to hurry up, or tell them that they are not paying enough attention to my needs. In other words, I am not demanding, because I understand that we all live in a busy world, and we all only get 24 hours in one day. At some point, when the other members have time, they will send the parts I need. I know this, so I do not sweat it. It's NOT that deep!! Things happen in time. This is not a hobbie for people that cannot wait, or expect people to jump at their every demand, when they cannot even bend down and look at a capacitor.
If you must have a certain machine RIGHT NOW, go to Best Buy and try to purchase it. When you find that you cannot, perhaps you will be on track on how things work here at AW.

Who died and left you in charge!

Hmmmmmmmmmm, now lets see,

#1 I designed this website,
#2 I wrote all the code for this website,
#3 I pay all of the related costs for this website without ever asking for one thing in return,
#4 I decide which posts stay and which posts get deleted, and what posts get moderated which I only do in cases of extreme stupidity like your behavior early on in this thread,
#5 I decide who gets banned (and no I'm not banning you, I need a good laugh every now and then),
#6 I have deleted quite a few of your posts back when you were posting new very annoying threads every single day whining about no one giving or selling you their WCI-60.

And by the way, thanks to all of my efforts with this website as well as the efforts of so many who have gone out and pounded the pavement (without using a computer) looking for machines far and wide, many have found their dream machines. You want it handed over you on a silver platter with a box of Tide inside and manuals shrink-wrapped inside, by simply writing a check, whatever good luck with that one. Go to Best Buy and get a Duet and hang a picture of a WCI-60 over it, cause that is the closest your ever gonna get to have a working one.

I agree with some of your thoughts but I have a right to express the way I feel.
Only if I continue to allow you to do so on this website. If I catch you begging for a WCI-60 again without any clear indication of a willingness on your part to do the legwork that it takes to find these rare gems, I will not only delete your post, but I will ban your IP address from ever seeing this website again, do I need to be any more clear than that?

Derrek,

Even if Robert had been rude - and he was not, I am deeply offended by your tone towards him and others here. Yes, we have personalities and yes, we all understand the frustration of making things work. Right now, my partner and I are digging parts of his vacuum cleaner collection (he lost 17 pre-1960 vacuums for certain that we know of) out of the slime, mold, mud and ick which was once his cellar.
But there is no excuse for such rudeness, not least demanding the other apologize that you might.
I'm out of here on this one, as I said - my youngest cat has better manners.
Oh, and if you will permit me, one does not type in all caps. That is shouting and is simply not done.

ROBERT,
YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR WEBSITE! AND EVERYBODY THAT BELONGS TOO IT ! I CAN DELETE YOUR WEBSITE ABOUT AS QUICK AS YOU CAN DELETE ME!

WHATEVER! SAD! SAD PEOPLE!

I AM A AMERICAN. I FEEL ASHAMED OF THIS WEBSITE. IT DOES NOT PROMOTE FREE SPEECH! GOD FORGIVE YOU IF YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT IDEA OR THOUGHT OTHER THAN THE ALMIGHTY WASHER-GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS.

Why, oh why, do we have to go through this "drama" all of the time? It gets old really, really fast.

I don't normally respond to this kind of behavior, but cut it out, will 'ya Derrek?

If you are going to work with old appliances, then you are going to have to learn that they can't be found in perfect condition ... even if it's your "dream" machine; too much time and use has elapsed.

Well, perhaps the republicans will ban this un-American site along with gay marriage. Until then, see ya!!

BZZZZZZTTT........Incorrect...

Derrek,

I met Robert during the last vacuum cleaner convention in Ohio. You have no idea how great this guy is. Nor do you have any idea of what you may be destroying. Neither site, this one or ours over at vacuumland.org would even exsist had it not been for his skills and knowledge to do all of what you see in front of you, or on the other site.

As a sidebar- I talked to Robert only briefly at the convention to say hello. We are not close or anything. But I know what he has done for me, however little we know each other. And I would NEVER commit website suicide by attacking or even berating him on his own forums. That is just a definite no no.

We, and most importantly "I" give him, any individual in fact that wishes not to become a frog, or a WCI based clothes slosher...COMPLETE and total respect due his kindness for making places like this possible. It make take a few flips of switches and a few punches of buttons. But this site can go away just as fast it came about.

Moreover, even if any of us "has" a "beef" with him or anyone, It's a learned and unwritten rule that you take it off board and deal with it directly with the person with whom the beef is with.

Becasue of him, and what he does for us all..you even had that faintest hint that there WAS a Frigidaire washer available, and heled you by HIS own goodwill to help you gain the opportunity to even PURCHASE the 1959 Frigidarie that you got to buy. Your last few posts in response to his questions to you, however it was taken is totally : BZZZTTT....INCORRECT..

"HE" made it possible for any of us to even know that one was available.

I get the feeling that a VERY strong " tink-a, tink-a tink " is about to occur. And that's sad because no one should end up a WCI machine...or a frog.

Chad.

Don't shit where you eat!

Wow Derrek, you not only burned the bridge, you dissolved the pylons and blew up the support beams too. DUH.

I have been very good friends with Robert for nearly 10 years now and will admit that he may have one fault - it's being too patient with petulant children on this website. The fact that he hasn't already banned you from even looking at the pages here is a testament to his patience and generous nature.

Please don't email me again about your dream 1960 Frigidaire, the remnants of your bridge have washed downriver and are gone. It's too bad too, if one group of people in the entire world would find one or help you with problems...

EVERYONE,
Do I laugh or cry for you? I guess I cry .I thought this website was for a hobby. The more I see and read seems to be cult-like. Everyone is so afraid of Robert. Why ? I don't know. Don't worry I do not want anything from any of you. This forum seems more like brain-washing than a mutal hobby. So what if Robert pulled the plug? I can promise you that another website would pop up soon as if this one never existed. I guess if Robert wanted you put on white toga's and sell flowers at the airport-everyone would create a traffic jam to get to the closest airport!
I will express my thoughts without Robert's approval. The last time I looked it was still a free country! For all the remaining members- be sure not to express your thoughts or concerns for it might make Robert mad! Believe me there are worst things that can happen to you - like getting a life.

Wow this has turned into some drama....love it! What Robert said I agree with but somehow I was thinking as I was reading what he said with something along the lines of the movie...Priscilla Queen of the Desert... where they were in the bar and Bernadette tells ol Shirl something like this..." Listen you mullett...take your tampon and put it in your box and light it and blow your box apart because thats they only bang your ever gonna get sweetheart!" Gawd knows stuff only happens if you make it happen. Things dont just drop into your lap because you just want something or say you want a certain thing.
You dont always get what you want in this life. But its been my experience to be careful what you wish for because you might just get it and not want it after all. So good luck on your quest for a 1960 Frigidaire washer...you should be just happy you got your mitts on what you got.

Toga, nah...

We'll all wear pretty pink aprons and carry laundry baskets full of clothes to be washed in our brand new vintage machines, it will make Derrick feel more at home.

Is that Sudso or Tide I smell?
