I have seen this machine at Bed Bath and beyond and in the Frontgate catalog.the Frontgate folks also sell a Hamilton Beach version of this machine(Margerita machine) for $2800!Vita Mix also makes a similar machine-same with Blendtec.Island Oasis is another-I had a drink from the Island Oasis machine-not bad.These "blenders" were made primarily for restuarants and bars for preparing frozen drinks.Now the Margaritaville" machine is less expensive and meant for home use.I don't need one.According to a demo video at Bed Bath and Beyond one of the toggle switches puts the machine into a "manual" mode-so you can controll how much crushed ice goes into the drink instead of the machine-and you can also run the blender manually.In the "auto" modein conjunction with the knob all the way to the right-you select how large of a drink you want the machine to make-and it crushes and adds the iceand the drink ingredients.
OOPs-I goofed-The machine DOSEN'T add the drink ingredients-just the ice-the other auto mode is the blending time.the machine blends the drink automatically.

Saw one at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville in Las Vegas. They are $300.00. My lil ol' $40.00 1955 Waring blender does just fine.
Costco is selling it for $250.
I would probably buy the TOL KA cast metal coffee grinder and toaster items before I got one of these...
