YAY thanks

And now, what's the best stuff to use to get the grime off of the top of the machine? And also, under the hood on the tub ring? I'm gonna clean it up when I go over there in 2 weeks.

Any spray cleaner like Fantastik will do the job. I spray it all down, then use a clean paint brush to get in the corners of the lid where the hinges are and behind the lid as well. Then I pour water all around the back of the lid and hinges to rinse, then clean the tub ring. Spray fantastik and let it sit awhile, if dirt is caked, then wipe and rinse. Should be good to go! Hope this helps!

Best cleaning------

IMO Clorox "Clean-Up". (Just be careful of your clothes as it will bleach!) Unmatched in its ability to clean those filthy "finds" AND it DISENFECTS!

Jason I always used one of those green pot and pan cleaning pads, and lots of "elbow grease" on the tub ring and other (non painted) parts. Those do not scratch, but are aggressive enough to remove all the years of crud.

Thanks for the suggestions. Scotchbrite, Fantastik, and elbow grease.

So the washer was born Sept. 1981. Maybe not VINTAGE but very classic. Definitely belongs here in the Imperial forum.
