of what has gone so terribly, terribly wrong in the US over the last years - please show me where in the Constitution it says that government's one and only responsibility is to persecute minorities whom the fundamentalist Christians dislike?
I don't wish death upon anyone, but I do think it might be interesting to hear his "outtake" interview with God. And then see the look on his face when he gets to his final point of destination and it is either what he expected, but with many folks he never in a million years thought to encounter...or another place, populated with a broad range of like minded hateful souls. Who knows, God might just have more sense of humor than I and send him back, this time around as a single, lesbian, Mexican, Black, handicapped, pregnant trans-gendered person...living in the Dixie of his youth.

The Worst Thing You Can Do:

I normally don't worry too much about what happens when detestable people die, but in Helms' case, I'm willing to make an exception. I think this occasion calls for the worst thing anyone can do to someone of his ilk, i.e.,

Forget he ever existed and use your vote in November to help bury his legacy of bigotry and intolerance.

The less of a mark people like this leave, the better.

Growing up in southern Calif, the name Helms always sparked a much more pleasant thought in my head.
