I'm trying to interest my mother in buying a Duet washer. She uses liquid "free & clear" detergents (without perfumes or dyes) in her old Maytag top-loader. Does anyone make a powder-type "free & clear" detergent? Is it any good?

I've got a big tub of Sears-branded HE Free & Clear powdered detergent. I'm nowhere near as discriminating as some folks who post here, but it works as well for me as some big-time brands like Tide HE or Persil powder. I also use All Small & Mighty Free & Clear Liquid from time to time. It works pretty well too, but I am constantly tense about oversudsing/rinsing completely. BTW, I use these products in a Kenmore 44092 machine (3.5 cu.ft. Frigmore from Electrolux).
