Zip code for these items - 19063. There's a fridge available too, pic not attached but it's in the ad.

I absolutely love the teeny 5th burner on the range! Does anyone know what it was intended for? Maybe keeping sauces or butter warm? Regardless, it's adorable.

Early 70s Thermidor 30 inch drop in range

This is an absolutely marvelous range. It’s the same range I’ve had in my kitchen for 35 years

The fifth small burner is a full powered burner. It’s not just for melting butter. It’s perfect for smaller percolators like a corning percolator or something but it’s 660 W.

The oven is not any lower than many ovens today or any professional oven, the vent in the rear has a small fan under, and it blows the air up to the range hood when this range was properly installed it was always installed with a vented range hood, and it turned the hood on also, no pipe was attached to this hole .

The range looks to be an excellent shape, these were nearly $2000 back in the early 70s. This is a full 30 inch drop in range. It is actually supported by the countertop but if you build a base for it you can put it in the space of a normal 30 inch range between the countertop opening, the sides are not finished at all.

Couldn't agree more.

These Thermador drop-in ranges were amazing. I first learned about them from beautiful St. Charles kitchen brochures.

The other model had a griddle/grill but lacked the tiny burner and had only one 8" burner. The customer got to choose their desired option. Julia Child did one of her later "French Chef" series with a Thermador 7-burner cooktop that also featured the 4-inch burner. A self-sealing pyrolitic self-cleaning oven (no gasket)was also a Thermador distinction. Appliances like these really make me feel that America has taken decades to go backwards.

So how does one take advantage of this offer?

Reply number four

Hi Ken, I have that same brochure. I love that period of time for Thermidor. They made so many good products that made sense.

One of the neat things about vintage stoves is these older ovens were actually more energy efficient than anything you can buy today that is a similar size, the early self-cleaning ovens had such good insulation and all of these Thermidor self cleaning ovens vented outdoors.

I guess that’s one of the reasons I love also collecting vintage ranges there’s no downside to using an older range, unlike older washing machines, refrigerators, and dishwashers that use so much energy .

That was the classic mainstream luxury mid-70s kitchen for a woman who was functionality-conscious....SubZero refrigerator, KA Superba dishwasher, and Thermador drop in /built in electric stove. Kitchenaid mixer on the countertop. Elkay or other high-end stainless steel sink (with dispensers, natch). Solid color Formica counters with a butcher block embedded (also a marble slab if you were a baker/confectioner).

If you were wedded to gas, sub-in a Chambers cooktop for the Thermador cooktop.

If you were not a good cook/more concerned with appearance; sub in a Corning cooktop
