That is the EXACT model, with H W C initials in the rectangle around the knob, where Mom taught me Hot Warm Cold, a spelling lesson at age 3 or 4 , 1963 or so!
That's what my grandma's General Electric '2 Speed Automatic Washer' w/ the left-opening lid taught me, too...
'H/W', 'W/C', 'C/C' was what was above the Wash/Rinse Temperature knob... Speeds were 'Normal' and 'Gentle'... And loads were 'Small', 'Medium' and 'Large'...
Volvoguy87 has the matching 1962 dryer. It was mine, and I'd get it back for a set or give it to him. If I'd seen it 12 hours ago, I might have picked it up for him on the way home from Cincinnati. I've got to go back there in about two weeks for a second interview. Is anyone on the area willing to pick up and hold the washer for a couple of weeks? I wrote on it. Let me know![this post was last edited: 7/1/2014-21:28]
Maybe next time. Add the 1962 70 series washer to the wish list. It was such a clean machine too (minus the paint fading).[this post was last edited: 7/2/2014-23:12]
