Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I have a Touchmatic from 1980.

It's the best microwave I have ever used. It has the big chrome door surround and the door opens down like a real oven. My housemates back in Savannah had a new $45.00 "Emerson" which was terrible. The only thing it would do consistently was screw up. It would pop half a bag of popcorn, burn it, and then leave the other half unpopped. I brought in my trusty old Amana and it just ran rings around the new one. We gifted the Emerson to a former friend and ran the Amana quite happily. Now the Radarange is in my basement awaiting my move to Boston (hopefully).

Warming,
Dave

Great oven

Thanks for the heads up. However I have four microwaves and cannot store another.
However, those older Touchmatic II units were the epitome of fine engineering and a great find for anyone.
For my Sister's wedding in the early 1980s, I went to Polk Brothers and bought her an Amana RRL-7C drop-down door dial microwave. My logic was that it would never fail. It is now 2008 and it still runs to this day (Ok, I had to put in a blower motor ten years ago but that's all!).
