I have this Maytag that belonged to a friend's mom's family since the days it was GASOLINE powered! Now converted to electric, but was in use till last year, now something leaked oil out onto the floor and they quit using it. Anyone have interest in this that will keep/restore it?

This is nice

My first thought was: Would make a unique place to put ice and beer.

Gotta admit, that would be an interesting conversation piece if filled like that.

Why don't you keep it? Wished it wasn't so far away.

Old Maytag

Too bad maytag isn't making these anymore! They might still have a good reputation if they were! I wish it wasn't so far away! Do you have a Craters and Freighters out near you?

In use continuously from some time in the 1920s ot 30s, right up to 2005. That must be an all-time record.

I'll bet the only thing wrong with it is a leaky seal on the transmission.

This one definitely needs to be saved, restored, and put back into service.

You can tell she's from Texas

Carol sez "let's put ice and beer in it" LOL.

The difference between that and Lousiana is a Cajun would try to figure out how to make it boil crawfish.

Pinchin' Tails & Suckin Heads

Good one Jason!

You got me there....that was too funny!

BTW...I would use this to hold ice/beer, (not ALL the time, just for a party or something)

But just until I could fix it.

New Home for the Maytag

Hey,....I'd like to have that, please.

I don't intend to use it, but it can happily sit here and enhance the basement with it's classic beauty (in the eye of the beholder, to be sure)

guessing here...

I think it's a 1936 model...by my best guestimate. I worked for a maytag dealer for a spell and we had one go through the shop a lot like it which was found to be a 1936. True..it's probably just a transmission seal leak, and may not even be too serious....I may run it that way anyway for a while....only once in a blue moon though...if the appliance gods allow.
