Fridgidaire Refrigerator won't stay running

So, we bought this beautiful fridge. A while ago it quit turning on, my husband cleaned the corrosion from the starter and it worked like a champ-for a while. This morning I woke up and heard it starting often. It doesn't sound like it did when it was the starter, it was a click sound before. Now it sounds like the starter is turning over and it starts to run but then shuts off immediately, then a minute or two later it will try again. We've unplugged it for now but does anyone have an idea of where we should start?

It Needs

A new starting relay, its a small box mounted underneath near the compressor, this can be found and easily replaced, what is happening is the start windings of the motor are kicking in but the run windings are not.

It may well need a new relay, or it could have a open or shorted winding in the compressor, any of these conditions will cause what you are describing.
