Looking at all the pictures on this site and Flickr, I spotted many Fridgidare advertisements. What year did they start making frost free models? When did they become squared instead of the funky 50's rounded look? Anyone remember a top of the line 1950's rounded top early side by side Fridgidaire model? Did any of Fridgidaire's hump back (rounded) fridges come with a frost free freezer?

My parents had this 1955 Fridgidaire with a bottom freezer. Was this model considered a mid price or economy model?

So, once we hit 1957 did Fridgidare square off their refrigerator/freezers across the entire line? Then what year (s) were those models that started to look sleeker but still had the rounded corners, the ones with the funky 50's scroll design on them?

The 1955 with bottom freezer and separate freezer door was the Top Of the Line model for 1955. It was a Cycla-Matic model with forced air circulation in the refrigerator section.

FRIGIDAIRE's FIRST FROST-PROOF REFRIGERATOR FP-142-58

This is one that you and I might be fighting over Phil.

It was really fun finely meeting you the other week, you truly amazed me with your knowledge about anything GM Frigidaire and any GM automobile as well, I would differently put you at the top of the list of of all things General Motors, maybe along with a few others like Ben in Iowa.

I swear I won't fight with you if you let me get your '67 Food Life Preserver instead, unless the '58 happens to be Charcoal!

Seriously,

I really enjoyed meeting you too! I expected to enjoy my trip a lot but this was even beyond my expectations!  I just wish that I would speak English more easily so I could have more elaborate conversations and I also wish I could move around more easily as I'm sure I would have made a few more finds at your place!
