Frigidaire Affinity FAFW3801LW0

Hi everyone!
I bought a new Frigidaire Affinity FL FAFW3801LW0 and the matching dryer FAQE7001LW0 in October of '12. While I am very happy so far with this set, I was wondering what other people's experience has been with these machines. I've read a lot of bad stuff about them, but I have experienced none of the problems the others described YET.
I read the manual before using them for the first time and also check the pockets like a good boy before starting the washer.
What is the average life expectancy of these washers? I see Electrolux has designed them to be as expensive to fix as it would be to buy a new one(tub/spider combo or the main bearing/rear outer tub setup which can't be bought separately).
Would appreciate some nice input!

We have a very similar model washer and the same dryer. We love these units and have had no problems what so ever. We have them stacked and like that setup. I am very impressed with the current Frigidaire products. We have a dual fuel range which is also exceptional.

I bought the top-of-the-line Frigidaire Affinity when the redesign was released in the summer of 2010. It has been a great machine; no problems. I love having an internal heater for truly hot (155-degree) water, as well as the recirculation jet which saturates even huge loads almost instantly with a concentrated detergent solution.

My previous washer was a 2002 Frigidaire Gallery front-loader. It was just starting to exhibit some bearing noise when I replaced it in 2010.

You should get at least 8-10 years of service from your washer. Enjoy!

Water pump Filter

Really there not to bad. A common issue is the filter that they put in the drain boot. Its a Plastic cup with 4 holes about a inch up. This thing collets lint and crap like no tommrow which is great...but to clean it you have to tilt the darn thing back reach tru a 6x12 hole load the base up with towels (theres no way to drain any excess water and remove the bood off the tub. IF your lucky you can get the thing out with out haveing to take it off the pump. If you do its a butt then...Also the door boot springs on this is literaly a giant spring. and it requires two people or the silly tool to put it on. but dont expect more then 5 to 7 years out of it.
