When did the clock/timer move to the front?

My parents had a Compact 30 in a home they had built in 1968-1969 but the clock/timer was a "stand up" unit at the back left-hand side of the top.
Is this one pictured an EARLIER model than that or was the clock/timer moved AFTER 1968-1969?
(OR did different models have the clock/timer located in different positions....)

I'm guessing this range is newer than 1968-1969, based on the Harvest Gold.  HG was introduced in the Spring of 1968 by GE, not sure how soon other mfgrs followed.  Also, since this is the "shaded" version of the color, that would date it no newer than approximately 1977.

It's a RE-533 from 1976-77.
