Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

It's here!

The dryer arrived today & I am stunned by the "mint" cosmetic condition that it is in. It is beautiful! The delivery guy arrived at 2:30 this afternoon. We unloaded it, put it in the storage room & I had to leave town for a business trip at 4:00. I took some quickie pictures with my "dumb" phone. I will post them as soon as I figure out how to do it. (The last time I tried this I managed only to erase all contacts & pictures from my phone. Thank goodness for backup assistance!)

Can't wait to show this thing off!

May Have A "Tech-Talk" Repair Master Covering This

Cannot speak for Frigidaire per se, but unless you install this unit in a cool and dry location you won't be firing it up until the Fall or Winter. That is unless your local weather produces some cool and crisp days or nights this summer. My AEG condenser dryer is not used once temps reach >50F and remain.

how does the filtrator dryer work?

Have heard of a filtrator type dryer before, but how are they different mechanically from regular dryers? And how does the outside temp affect their operation? Beautifully styled machine though. Have never seen this type of model. Les.

It is a condenser (ventless) dryer.

Warm moist air instead of being vented out of the room and building via a hose is sent over a series of metal plates. It is there that the moisture supposedly "condenses" out of the air and drains into a pan or is pumped into a container. The now less humid air is returned to the drum (heated if necessary) and the cycle repeats itself over and over.

Instead of the hot and often dry chamber we are mostly used to with dryers, the inside of a condenser dryer is moist and often steamy. While this does make for some fluffy towels and smooth laundry, it is not without some downsides. Most notably condenser dryers *can* heat and steam up a room.

Condenser Dryer

In my family home in Chattanooga we have a very large & cool basement that will be perfect for this dryer. I can't wait to get it there. In the meantime I will be searching for a washing machine to match this dryer.

Thermostat

The original owner said that the dryer got exceedingly hot & was burning/melting some of her fabrics. Where is the thermostat located on this dryer so I can look to see if that might be the culprit? I am afraid to attack it with out knowing beforehand because I don't want to take a chance of messing something up. bc
