Hi All:

I have a new toy: a GE (Frigidaire) front loader, the oldest model with the small porthole door. The plastic hubs that the leveling legs screw into are broken apart. Does anyone have a part#? Also, the door seems to not align with the seal properly. The bottom is a bit more open, so that water occasionally drips. Is there an adjustment for this? New hinge? Any help would be appreciated. I got this machine new for a steal.

Hi John!
It's model #WSXH208A0WW. I have a feeling the door issue is from the glass not lining up with the door frame. I'll reset it and see if it helps.

Hi Bobby,

The parts breakdown does not show the bottom baseplate of the washer as a replacable part, so I don't think those leveling leg bushings are available to replace. Maybe finding a nut and washer to fit those threads might work?????

Typical new machinery!

Hi John:

No luck here either. I think I will try the thick plastic threaded legs and see what happens. Have you ever seen these doors misalign? The bottom is more open than the top, so when it tumbles and clothes hit the glass, it leaks. The glass and door seem OK. Do you think the hinge could be out of alignment? Of course none of these issues are addressed in the service manual!

All Repaired!

Solid plastic legs (GE brand) worked fine, for $4 a piece. A new (used) hinge fixed the misaligned door. It seems the old hinges were all metal- the new ones, at least the one used on this model, have a nylon bushing for the middle section of the hinge. It obviously warped or could not support the weight of the door. I will run a maiden voyage load tomorrow.

You will like the machine

The GE is good and it is the only one of the Frigemore that when filling tumbles. I have a sone that has this model and it is a good machine. His is stacked with the dryer on top. They have had it for 6 years and no problem and no smell or mold and it now washes for a family of 5. Plus no dumbed down hot/warm water.

Thanks Westie!

I tweeked the water level a bit, and it really washes and rinses well. My friend has the Frigidaire with the top console, and I was very impressed with it. I wanted to grab one before they are NLA. I don't particularly care for the new FL's that only use 1 tbs. of water.
