Frigidaire Front Load washers are JUNK!

I had this set in a side-by-side configuration. They performed very well, but my washer only made it for 5 years before the bearings/seals failed.

If you want a real Frigidaire, get a GM Frigidaire washer since they didn’t make any front loaders that I am aware of when GM was making appliances for them.

I have decided to give another a try. I got the matching set. GLTF1670AS1/GLEQ642AS2

Washer's bearings are shot. Hopefully the spider shaft isn't too damaged or I will have to find a donor machine or do a half-### fix and use waterproof bearings from SKF or Timken. Dryer works Fine. Electric Dryer. Gave it a through cleaning and removed the bounce dryer bar holder.

I bought the same washer in 2006 and it was the best machine I ever had. Sold it in 2016 when I moved and it was still going strong

What is the SPIDER???

New to front Loaders (got a new one in Sept) and keep seeing the SPIDER mention and not in a good way. Could someone please tell me what it is?

The three-armed support that incorporates the drive shaft and anchors to back of the drum.  Some manufacturers consider it to be an integral part of the drum and don't source it as a separate, replaceable part.
