Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

worth picking up???

if you know of someone that doesn't have any washer and you want to get it for them - yes. Is it collectible? no, it is a WCI model with plastic tub. Agitator just stirs the clothes around, with the tub indexing almost as much as today's WCI models. Extraction is just okay. We had a similar set until 2001 - we sold the w&d for $100, they are still going strong. The dryer itself is quite good with big capacity drum but the washer is nothing special - imho

My humble opinion

If you were going to purchase a machine of this vintage, why not add a nineties model Simpson or Hoover to your collection? There was such a variety of models the Hoover Electronic being one of my favourites.

They are fun to watch and unique to us so would be good for the convention, and considering the Hoover factory has closed and the Simpson factory closes soon, it would be good to save an example for posterity.

Here is one of my favourite Simpson variants.

Truth is, you didn't see too many of those...
